We meet Ove, a curmudgeon – a man who points at people he dislikes as if they were burglars caught outside his bedroom window. He has principles, strict routines and a short fuse, by people he is called ‘the bitter neighbour from hell’. Behind the cranky exterior there is a story and a sadness.
One November morning Ove gets new neighbours, a chatty young couple with two chatty young daughters. While moving in they accidentally flatten Ove’s mailbox. This is the start of a comical and heartwarming tale of unexpected friendship, unkempt cats and more. All of which will change one cranky old man and a local residents’ association to their very foundations.
This is a feel-good story about the angry old man next door. A thoughtful and charming exploration in the impact one life has on countless others.
