It seems like it was only yesterday when everyone couldn’t stop talking about Kate Middleton’s pregnancy, and now her little bundle of joy with Prince William has just turned one. Being a royal baby, the world has gushed over little Prince George’s every happy milestone – from his first smile to his first tooth, and just recently, his first steps. In celebration of his first birthday, let’s take a look back at those memorable moments that undoubtedly made the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge beam with pride.

Since the day they officially tied the knot in 2011, Kate and William were soon hounded by pregnancy rumours. The royal couple did not confirm that the Duchess was indeed expecting until the latter was admitted to King Edward VII hospital on December 2012 for acute morning sickness.  Here, Kate and William gamely pose for photographers as they emerged with wide smiles from the hospital in London.

It was not an easy pregnancy for Kate Middleton. Her early weeks of pregnancy required an IV drip and constant bed rest. Nevertheless, she was up and about in style a few months into her term in this baby blue dress.

Prince George was born in July 22, 2013. This snap was taken when he was one-day old, his first photo with his proud parents in matching blue outfits.

The first family portrait, was taken by Michael Middleton – Kate’s father – at the Middleton family estate in Bucklebury, Berkshire. The royal family’s dog Lupo and the Middletons’ dog Tilly were also in the picture.

The (presumed) future King of England had fun with new toys and new friends in a play date in New Zealand.
